Marble Falls

Today I’m leaving Lubbock and drive to Marble Falls down in the Hill Country.
It’s good to be driving again, I just love it!

I’m passing through all these little places and sometimes it feels like I’m 20 or 30 years back in time...

It’s nice to get out of Texas flat land into the hills.

I’m playing as the featured Artist in a songwriter series at the River City Grille in Marble Falls, right next to the Colorado river.

The series is hosted by Mike Blakely andd John Greenberg who open up the evening with a hot set of music:)

After a full day of driving and then playing I’m ready to go to sleep

I learn that this weeks Friday concert was cancelled - well, I can stay a little longer in Ransom Canyon. Time flies between practicing, reading and cooking.
Tonight Danny’s mom and sister come by for dinner.

We have a great time and enjoy the evening and the meal

Ransom House Concert

Looks like I moved in...

The last days went by so fast and the weekend brings a few concerts. It’s a beautiful day and I take a walk along the lake.

From afar I can see the famous metal house through the trees. A few years ago I drove by and took a close up.

Later we set up the chairs...

Monika and Danny have prepared a great table of food for the guests.

It’s a nice concert with lots of folks and a wonderful intro to the weekend.

11 hours to Lubbock, TX

It’s cold up here in the mountains and I sleep a little longer than I had anticipated - might have been the beer:) Today it’s about an 11 hours drive to Lubbock TX - so let’s go. first into New Mexico.

Checking out if there is any message for me from outer space...

I come through many little villages because I’m not taking the main highway. So I take a few shots right outside my window...

I drive through land that looks like the moon - it feels like that too. I’m still in NM when the sun goes down.

The last three hours are the hardest! It has gotten real cold and dark. My wipers freeze and the icy fog does not make it easier. I’m driving now for ten hours and on top of the fog and ice there is a sudden Blizzard! Damn! I’m toast and need to get there soon...I finally arrive in Lubbock and now have to make my way out to the Canyon where i stay with my friends Danny and Monika.

Gotto love that!

By the time I reach Showlow in the Arizona mountains I’m totally friend and ready for some mexican food, TV and a beer:) and that all while I write some emails...
